June BoxyCharm: My Box Variation

I recently subscribed to BoxyCharm, a monthly beauty subscription box that gives you four to five full size makeup and/or skin care products a month. It’s around $35 CAD per month, which is a great value considering the price of the products included. I wasn’t very impressed with my May box, the only product that I’ve been enjoying is the Gentle Bubble cleanser from Glamglow. My May box also included an eye lash curler, (I already own one so I didn’t need another), Luna by Luna lip gloss, Ciate London eye lustre creme eyeshadow in “ice”, and Milk Makeup’s luminous blur stick.

When my June BoxyCharm box arrived, I was excited to see the products inside!

1) St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse with tan applicator mitt

I’ve never used a self tanning product before so I was super excited to receive this. Now that it’s summer and I live in a warm climate, I’m excited to be tan instead of my usual burnt tomato look! Also, I love that it comes with the mitt applicator!

2) Tarte – Be you. Naturally. Eye shadow pallet

This product is a BoxyCharm exclusive, which means you can’t buy it at Sephora or on the Tarte website. I love neutral eye pallets so I’m really glad I received this product! The colours are nicely pigmented and I’ve used it a few times already. It also smells nice, which is always a bonus! The dark brown and gold glitter shades have been my favourite so far.

3) Dirty Little Secret Lip Liner

This was the only product in the box that I didn’t like. I don’t use lip liners and this one is too light for my skin tone and barely shows up. It’s also hard and doesn’t go on smoothly. This one is a thumbs down for me unfortunately.

4) Touch in Sol – No Poreblem Prime Essence

This product was my favourite in the box this month! I’ve never used an essence primer, but I love the consistency of it and how it’s not silicone-based like the majority of other primers. I don’t think it blurs my pores as much as I would like it to, but it makes my makeup last all day and gives it a nice smooth finish. It’s a great primer for dry skin, which is also a bonus.

5) Dominique cosmetics – Lemonade Lip Gloss in pink lemonade

I haven’t worn lip gloss since middle school, but this one is lovely! It gives a sheer pink colour but it’s very hydrating and not sticky, which I appreciate. It smells amazing as well. I would recommend this one!

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with June’s BoxyCharm. I enjoyed 4 out of 5 of the products which I think is pretty good. I can’t wait to see what July has in store! Let me know if you would like to see a look using these products, I would love to do one.
